Managing Director, Global Sustainable Consulting and Finance
Jason Johnson, JD/MBA is the owner and Managing Director of Global Sustainable Consulting and Finance, providing advisory and consulting services that generally focus on financing, marketing, and business development for start-ups and young businesses trying to expand.
From 2008 until 2012, he worked at Traficon, s.r.o. (Prague, Czech Republic) as a Senior Analyst where he dealt primarily with alternative energy and energy efficiency projects and was responsible for financial and market analysis, legal agreements, green building consulting, marketing, corporate event planning, and business plan preparation.
Before 2008 he worked as legal intern during law school over the summers in both Italy and South Africa researching various international tax implications for various transactions and drafting Articles of Incorporation for a non-profit organization.
In 2003 after completing double BA degrees in Environmental Studies and Global Studies with a minor in German at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he decided to complete a joint JD/MBA program at Chapman University School of Law, in Southern California where he focused on Environmental, Real Estate, and Land Use Law (ENLURE program) and Tax Law. In addition, he focused on Marketing for the Masters in Business. Both his Masters and Jurist Doctorate degrees were completed in 2009.
After finishing his last two MBA courses in Prague, he began lecturing at various Universities as a Professor part time and has taught a number of courses ranging from Economics, Management and Business Law to Political Science and Environmental Studies. His lecturing has taken him to Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Serbia, Albania, the U.S., and the Czech Republic. The most important among them is the Czech University of Life Sciences where he currently works in the Business Department.
As a Professor he prefers an interactive approach where he encourages the student to think about how interconnected the world is and how much academic areas overlap. Having first studied at the University of California system which tends to be more theoretical, he prefers to guide students with a more hands on and pragmatic approach so they gain the proper experience and knowledge in order to immediately apply not only in their academic area of study, but also their personal lives.
Motto: Life isn’t always just about finding yourself, it’s also about creating yourself.
