Don't be afraid of change. Have you decided to go back to school in your 30s? Great! LIGS suggests why this is the best time to start, earn your college degree, and move forward in your career.

They say it's never too late to start with something new. It doesn't matter if you're in your 30s, 40s, or even 50s. You can go back to school at any age and change your career. LIGS is here for you if you make that choice. Age is just a number that shouldn't hold you back from reaching your dreams.

First steps we take towards our dream career date back to the high school years for most of us. How old were you when you first started working? Earning your first working and life experience is a long-lasting process. Do you still remember what you wanted to be when you were 10, and then, at 18 years old? The view you have is like a 10, 18-year-old young kid (or student) from a person with some work experience. What makes sense in your 20s won't make sense in 35s, and that is OK.

We believe there are many people out there, who want to make that big decision and change their current career path. If you decide to do something like that, there is one major decision to make as well. Will you go back to school, or will you try your luck without an adequate college degree?

Juggling work, family, and household are hard. That is why going back to school may seem unrealistic at this point in life. But that's just it, it is. Luckily today, there are plenty of possibilities to learn and educate yourself. It's one of the advantages of the internet because you can log in anytime from anywhere. LIGS University is unique that way. We were the first on the market to provide an online college degree without the necessity to physically go in the class. The only thing you need is a good internet connection and enough determination to manage your studies and finally get your university degree. A great example is one of our recent graduates Sarah Elizabeth Wall, who earned her Ph.D. in less than 12 months!

Do you know the saying, "The older you get, the wiser you are?" Mature grown people who already made some accomplishments in life are more likely to be motivated towards challenges life throws at them. That is why their chances to succeed are much higher. A great example is an elderly couple who decided to start a bee sanctuary farm. Even though they had no idea about anything bee-related at first. They started reading books on beekeeping and watching online YouTube videos on this subject. And within 2-years their dream came true with much motivation and devotion. It might be surprising for you, but they weren't in their 30s or 40s but already in their 50s.

In the end, let's take a look at a few reasons why to go back to University in midlife.

1. You are ready this time around.

What do we mean by that? If you circle back to your college years, how much time did you spend studying? Many college students want to get a complete college experience. The urge to learn is overruled by distraction in their surroundings, friends, or gaining experience with traveling. What's in the way is FOMO, also known as fear of missing out. This is not an issue for people in their 40s. Their golden student years are behind them. There is nothing to distract them from learning.

2. You don't like your job? Change it!

3. Would you like to progress your career? Get your qualification.

4. Study online.

With all that being said, if you feel like you are not happy with your current job, or you want to progress in the field where you work, but missing the academic title, go for it. It will be worth your while!
