On Tuesday October 10, 2017, representatives of LIGS University underwent a mandatory pre-accreditation workshop led by Dr. Lori Williams from the WASC (Western Association Senior College and University Commission), which is an accreditation association recognized by the US Department of Education.
Dr. Lori Williams has over 25 years of experience in education. Most recently, she served as provost and ALO at Ashford University in San Diego. Previous positions include vice provost of curriculum development and innovation at Kaplan University, vice president of product strategy and development at Laureate Education, executive director of the center for student success at Walden University, and administrative roles at Saint Michael's College and Middlebury College.
The workshop focused on the general preparation for the Institutional Report and, in addition to the members of the Board of Directors, was also attended by the management, staff and co-workers of LIGS University. Following the submission of the Institutional Report, the first WASC accreditation team visit is scheduled at LIGS University, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, to be held in September 2018.
We are very pleased to have made further progress in seeking accreditation recognized by the US Department of Education and we are working hard to prepare all the necessary documents and incorporate the valuable recommendations we have received from WASC during this workshop and during regular communication with this association. We would like to also thank Dr. Lori Williams for valuable information and advice on how to proceed in the process of preparing for the visit of the accreditation team.
