Founder and Director of Lawal Aliyu Academy Zaria
Alhaji Umar Lawal Aliyu is the Founder, a Tutor and Director at Lawal Aliyu Academy Zaria since 1999 to date. The Academy operates Nursery, Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools that offers Primary School, Junior Secondary School, West African Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examinations and Certificates.
He is presently a Lecturer at LIGS University Honolulu, Hawaii taking BBA, MBA, DBA and PhD students. He guides and assists students with their Dissertation thesis by supervising, evaluating and assessing the relevance, form, and scientific side of their thesis. He also Communicate, grade and evaluate student’s seminar papers, publication activity and case study and participate in students Dissertation opponency.
From 1998 to date, he worked at Laluco Nigeria Limited Zaria, Kaduna state as a Director in charge of operations where he dealt with managing quality assurance programs, supervising and analyzing their effectiveness and creating strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
He was adviser to two (2) Executive Governors of Kaduna State. He was adviser to the State Governor from 2007 to 2011 and to another State Governor 2015. Being A Special Adviser, he gave assistance on aspects of state business, speculative policy papers which can generate long-term policy thinking within the state by Contributing to policy planning, Government’s objectives and official issues on Government policy.
In 1998 to 2009, he was Managing Director at Nagari Hospital Zaria where he was in charge of strategic and operational decisions and was responsible for ensuring that the company meets its statutory obligations.
Prior to that, he was a lecturer at Federal College of Education Kano from 1997 to 1998 where he taught Diploma and Degree students in Management, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics and Quantitative Technique. Teaching in this great college has made him to inspire students to want to learn with passion. He constantly renews himself as a professional on his quest to provide students with sense of leadership to assume great leadership roles and responsibilities.
He also worked at the accounts section of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. in 1989 and has worked with spread sheets, sales ledgers, purchase ledgers and journals. When working with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. he prepared statutory accounts and calculate payments, amounts and records making sure they are correct in all aspects.
He obtained his Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Criminology, Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance and PhD in Management. He has published over ten (10) articles and has actively done over five (5) presentations.
He has received over Twenty-five (25) Certificate of Merits and Awards including Ambassador of Peace and Unity awarded to him by the Nigeria House of Representatives.
His goals are to make students develop a passion to learn because knowledge is power and the passport to today, tomorrow and the future.
